Winterfest 2016 Mini Holiday Art Contest

 

Feeling festive? Tired of drawing Aiko? Design a birthday cake for our lovable Winterfest mascot, Doug! It's his 5th birthday and you could win admission, an art table, and two tickets to the Maide Café for Winterfest 2016.

 

Doug is a playful and mischievous white-haired boy with blue eyes. He represents Ai-Kon’s mini winter anime festival, Winterfest! This year's Winterfest is Doug's 5th birthday, and the little scamp is looking forward to eating all the cakes that you design for him!

Contest ends Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:59pm. The winning entry will be made available on the Ai-Kon website (http://www.ai-kon.org) for viewing, and Cake-ology will be recreating the winning design into a full-scale cake to be served at the 2016 Winterfest Maid Café.

 

Contest Update!

Ai-Kon is very excited to announce that we have partnered with Cake-ology to bring the winning birthday cake design to life for Winterfest! Cake-ology will be helping to choose the winning design and will recreate a full scale version to be served at the 2016 Winterfest Maid Café.

Contest Rules and Requirements

 

• Design a birthday cake for Doug! No background necessary. Cakes can be in any medium, including (but not limited to) knitted/crocheted, sculpted, baked, and/or sewn. Just include a picture of your creation!

• No entries featuring poses, outfits and/or hair styles of copyrighted characters, or copyrighted characters themselves. Any entries featuring copyrighted material will not be accepted.

• No adult-themed entries will be accepted. This will be at the discretion of Ai-Kon executives. Please ensure entries are suitable for all ages.

• A maximum limit of one entry per person will be accepted.

• For drawn entries, designs must be full-colour, 300 dpi resolution and submitted electronically in JPEG format. A smaller version of your entry may by submitted for judging as long as a higher resolution version is available.

• You may also post artwork to your own web site, DeviantART account, or other hosting service and e-mail us the URL.

• Do not use a watermark on your submission.

Entries must be received no later than Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:59pm and will be judged by the Ai-Kon committee and the talented owners of Cake-ology. The winning entry will be announced shortly after.

 

All entries and rights to the images become property of Ai-Kon.

 

Prizes

 

The winner will receive admission for one (1) person to Winterfest and one (1) full art table at Winterfest. Or, if the winner chooses, he/she may receive two (2) admissions to Winterfest instead of an art table and an admission. The winner will also receive two (2) tickets to the 2016 Winterfest Maid Café.

 

Winterfest 2016 is scheduled for February 27th at the RBC Convention Centre. More details to follow. Information on how to purchase a Winterfest 2016 art table can be found here.
